Place 72 – Day 473: Vancouver, BC – Buying Ourselves Gifts

We woke up at the same time as yesterday and had some cinnamon buns for breakfast.

We had a pretty lazy start to the day and then we got some cleaning done.

After cleaning, we drove out to do the shop. Apparently, it was the day for everyone to shop, as it was super busy!

We picked up some small dehumidifiers from Canadian Tire, then we went to Winners and bought ourselves some Christmas gifts! We only had one thing we each wanted, so we just went and bought them (lounge trousers) and we’ll have them to use on Christmas day.

We finished that and then did the weekly food shop. We didn’t get too much so it didn’t take very long.

We got back home and Kim made a terrific roast, just like we had last week. Curtis went and got a pre cooked whole chicken from the store down the road and we had that with it too. We have a lot of leftovers for us over the next few days!

Once we ate, we tidied up and took the bins down.

We did a bit more cleaning then we relaxed for the evening, playing some games, watching TV and Kim did a facemask and had a bath!

Curtis is back to working this week, but he’s actually quite looking forward to it.

Place 72 – Day 173: Vancouver, BC – Winners Dinner!

Curtis’ Day

Curtis had a lot of meetings planned for the day, 5 in total, so that was basically what he did!

There were also a lot of tickets coming in, so that kept Curtis busy in between meetings.

A meeting Curtis was meant to have in the afternoon got cancelled and he was able to welcome someone that traveled in from the Regina office and give them a little tour.

After that, Curtis finished the day with some training.

Kim’s Day

Kim came into work and had an email back from a venue she reached out to. It turns out that the company had way more venues than Kim initially realised so she looked through all the options and responded back for more information.

Kim then took a bit of time to organise other areas of the social planning. This came at a great time as it appears that all of Kim’s saved information had been corrupted so she had to start again with all of her notes on upcoming events.
Kim also scheduled a delivery pickup and cancelled some catering that no one made any choices on.

Kim then went on a donut date with a wonderful lady. They went and picked up a coffee and then came back to the office to have lunch together. It was so much fun and they talked about a load of different things.
When she got back to her desk Kim spent some time looking at catering options for breakfast for a meeting next week.

After this Kim had a catch up with someone in regards to their desk set up and then Kim had a catch up with someone in marketing to talk about sending some swag out. She then spent the rest of her afternoon saving invoices.

Winners Dinner!

Curtis had a quick dinner with all of his team from the Hackathon as one of them was in from the Regina office!

They went to a place called Pourhouse which was actually pretty quiet when they arrived.

Curtis had a burger and fries and a cheap beer (it was Happy Hour) and everyone just chatted, got to know eachother a bit more and just had a laugh together.

Curtis walked home and got home to Kim cleaning.

Place 72 – Day 151: Vancouver, BC – Overnight Snow

Overnight Snow

We woke up this morning to some snow! We didn’t even know it had snowed overnight until we went outside.

We had our breakfast and then left the apartment, after getting ready, to get some shopping done.

We went to Winners first and got Kim some more leggings and took back her snow trousers she bought as she got some better ones.

We left here and went for a coffee.

After coffee, we went to the supermarket and got food for the week and a few other things, such as cold and flu pills for Curtis as he is coming down with a cold!

We came back home and Curtis watched the (terrible) leafs game and then we had the remainder of the leftover veggie chilli with rice for dinner whilst watching some TV. Curtis is hoping he’s feeling better tomorrow!

Place 72 – Day 144: Vancouver, BC – Snow Prepared!

Snow Prepared

We got up and out fairly quickly this morning, to try and get ourselves prepared with snow clothes!

We plan to go skiing/snowboarding, so we needed to make sure we had the right clothing.

We started about a 20 minute walk from our house at a store called Sport Junkies.

This place is mostly a used sporting goods store, but it has been recommended to us by a few people so we checked it out.

Curtis successfully found some trousers for the snow, and pretty fast, but Kim was unable to find anything.

We left here and went to Winners to see if Kim could find anything for herself, which she did! She got some white Superdry snow trousers.

After this success, it certainly seemed that we deserved a reward, so we sat in Starbucks with a coffee for a bit.

After this, we did a larger shop at the supermarket as we needed a few general items that we don’t purchase too often.

We got these and then headed back home.

Homemade Thai Green Curry

Once we got back, it was time to make dinner!

Kim made a Thai green curry, which was terrific!

We ate this, watched some TV, did some laundry and cleaned the bathroom…because fun Sunday things!
