Place 72 – Day 137: Vancouver, BC – A Card Tower

Curtis’ Day

Curtis wanted a break from doing the guides he spent all day doing yesterday, so he made an effort to not do any!

Instead, Curtis spent most of the day just setting up accounts and laptops for 2 new people that start on Monday.

After lunch, at 15:30 after his meeting, Curtis had a challenge to complete – building a tower from a pack of cards.

The rules were simple. Only the cards and box can be used.

Curtis was on a team with 2 others and they thought of the idea to bend the cards to use them as a structure, which is what they did.

Everyone started to follow suit but in the end, after some drama of the ‘judge’ accidentally knocking down another tower, Curtis’ team won and got tickets to do an escape room!

Curtis setup desks for the new people and completed a couple of tickets at the end of the day and then left to meet Kim and walk home.

Kim’s Day

When Kim got in she remembered that she had some fruit from the catering in the fridge, so she chopped up some more and made a nice little fruit salad. Kim then turned her attention to the drinks fridge and restocked that.

When she got back to her desk is was time to save more of the invoices. She is making good progress, but gets interrupted by the phone and other emails which disturbs the flow!

As two people were leaving to pick up their lunch they invited Kim along so she went for a nice walk with them to the shop. When they got back they all sat down for some lunch. It was so nice.

After lunch Kim took some time to rearrange her calendar for next week and warning people of thw big meeting room cleanout taking place tomorrow. She then continued on with the invoices.

Kim arranged a meeting with a colleague so she could help Kim figure out what should and shouldn’t be kept from behind at reception. She went through and organised it in to piles and then they quickly went through it together and Kim managed to organise paperwork and throw a whole lot out.

The last bit of the afternoon was continuing on with the invoices.

Back To Silks

We actually walked home together today, which is the first time in a while as Kim didn’t have to stay late.

We got home and watched some YouTube whilst Curtis had some thai curry for dinner.

Once Kim left to go to Silks, Curtis played the new Call of Duty beta!

Kim drove out to Richmond and had an open silks practice session. It felt like Kim has no muscle mass in comparison to when she left.

Kim was able to climb okay but her invert and combo moves were gross!
As a result of this, when kim got home, she went straight to the gym to focus on legs, core and flexibility. Hopefully that will help!

Kim got home and we watched some more TV and then went to sleep.

We can’t believe its Friday already!

Place 49 – Day 291: Auckland – Into The Playoffs

We woke up a few times this morning but stayed in bed until 09:35.

We had cereal for breakfast and watched some videos.

We had a shower each and then did the housework. We vacuumed and hung out the laundry before we left to get the shopping done.

We didn’t get too much whilst shopping and so we had time to go to our usual coffee shop and get an iced mocha!

We went back home and Kim made lunches as well as cleaned the oven.

We then did some research for accommodation and got some booked.

We then took Nicola and Tabitha to watch Curtis’ hockey game. This game was a big one, where if Curtis’ team won, they would get 3rd in the league.

The game was a physical one, where Curtis managed to get 3 penalties, one of which was a questionable hit.

On the plus side, Curtis’ team won 1-0 and therefore secured 3rd place!

Next up is the play-off quarterfinals, where they play the last place team in the league. That’s in 2 weeks.

We got home and Curtis showered then we had a chicken burger each for dinner.

We watched two episodes of the big bang theory and then did some more research.

Place 49 – Day 283: Auckland – An Incredible Game & A Birthday Party

We woke up at 10:30 which was the perfect time to wake up!

We had a sausage each from last night as well as scrambled eggs, beans and mushrooms.

Breakfast

We finished up with breakfast and then Curtis watched the Leafs’ pre-season game.

At 14:00, Curtis took Kim to a birthday party! This was for a colleague at work. We stopped by at the supermarket to get some flowers for the birthday girl and some drinks.

Curtis dropped Kim off, got some fuel and went home.

At 15:30, Curtis left to go to his hockey game. As he got halfway down our road, he realised he didn’t swap his glasses for contact lenses, so he turned around, put them in and then was off again.

Curtis got to the rink and had a good feeling about the game! This game was against the Bears, who are currently last place.

Curtis’ team started sloppy and after 2 periods, they were down 1-0.

In the 3rd period, the Scorpions turned it up and scored two goals in the last 5 minutes to come out with a win! Curtis got an assist on one goal and felt that he had a good game in general.

One more game left in the season and then it’s playoff time!

Curtis drove home, showered and ate some pizza. On the drive home, there were some incredible skies!

Kim had a great time at the party. She was playing games and of course drinking, but she really enjoyed herself.

Kim got a lift home via KFC and got herself a twister wrap.

Once Kim got home, we watched some YouTube videos and then went to sleep!

Curtis needs to get a haircut tomorrow but his usual barber is closed so he had to find a new one!

Place 49 – Day 224: Auckland – Big Win & Post-game Beverage

We woke up at 10:00 and Kim FaceTimed her family.

Once Kim was done with that, we had a ham, cheese and egg bagel each for breakfast.

Once we were done with breakfast, we got ready and headed out to Onehunga.

We were going to find some new work shoes for Curtis as his current ones have holes in and Kim was looking for some clothes, too.

We went to a few shops and Kim got a couple of exercise tops and a skirt and Curtis didn’t find any shoes!

We left Onehunga and went to Glenfield Mall on the way home to do the weekly shop.

We stopped in at Coffix when we got in and had to wait a while as it was busy! Once we got our coffee, Curtis’ wasn’t good at all which was a shame!

We then stopped at a couple of shops to look for shoes for Curtis and eventually found some nice brown ones.

We then did the shop which didn’t take long and then we came back home.

We did a bit of a clean when we got home, doing the vacuuming.

We then drove to Botany for Curtis’ ice hockey game.

The game was a really good one and the Curtis’ team got the 4-2 win!

After the game, we went for a drink with Curtis’ colleague Colten and his girlfriend Sarah. It was nice to sit and chat, until the music got too loud which is when we left!

We then got home and Curtis showered and we watched some funny videos whilst eating leftover pizza as dinner!
