Place 72 – Day 220: Vancouver, BC – The Day Went Fast!

Curtis’ Day

Curtis got working and whilst the day started slow, it certainly picked up!

Curtis did some tickets in the morning and then at 11:00 (ish) we went for a walk together up to the shop, to kill two birds with one stone, getting a walk in and getting some things from the shop.

After that, Curtis’ day got very busy, with many people messaging him and a lot of new tickets coming in!

He got a lot done, but then also had 1:1 meeting after lunch, followed by another project related interview meeting.

After that, Curtis spent the rest of the afternoon sorting out some folders which had duplicates, so he had to compare both, check which was the right one and delete the other.

All in all, that took a couple of hours but the time went super fast!

Kim’s Day

Kim joined the company wide meeting to start her day and then spent some time looking into how things will work with couriers at the moment!

She then worked on sending out invites for social things happening soon, a cello recital and company wide social catch up on Wednesdays!

After lunch Kim wrote down plans for other mini games. She wrote up the blurb and ‘rules’ for the games to save her time when it comes to sending out invites!

Kim then had a quick call to practise how she can make break out rooms on Zoom and said a nice hello to other people in her team which was nice!

More Working Out

We took the bins out, emptied the dishwasher and then did more working out!

We did the next day of our 14 day workout followed by some stretching.

Kim did some more whilst Curtis tapped out and played games instead.

We then had vegetarian chilli for dinner and then Kim went out to work to pickup a couple of things she needs from there.

We watched some TV and played some more games when Kim got back and that was our day, which was a super fast one!

Place 72 – Day 138: Vancouver, BC – Back To Training!

Curtis’ Day

Curtis got to work and there were a few new tickets to take care of.

A couple of these were regarding a recent migration that has started and they were requesting help, so Curtis spent a while dealing with those today.

Along with that, Curtis did a few tickets from people walking up to him and he also made a lot of progress with the project he is working on. He’s nearly finished that!

Curtis walked home in the rain and then did a bit of cleaning around the apartment.

Kim’s Day

Kim started her day by organising herself! She sorted and submitted some expenses from months ago, which was great. She then prepared 2 packages and took them to their separate drop off points just before lunch.

After lunch, Kim started the afternoon by running around giving out ice lollies. She then spent the rest of the afternoon working throughout the backlog of stuff she has put off for months. She also took a little time to look into a few things for next years holiday party!

2 Classes

For the first time in what felt like forever, Kim had 2 pole classes back-to-back and she loved it! It felt great for her to get back out and do some exercise.

Curtis did some more cleaning and admin at home whilst Kim was out.

Once Kim got home, we watched some TV and that was our evening.

Curtis’ leaving work around 15:00 tomorrow as its NYE and the office closes then!

Place 72 – Day 198: Vancouver, BC – Helpin’ Out

Curtis’ Day

Curtis had a lot of tickets to get done or chase up on today, so that kept him nice and busy, as well as a few new tickets he had to pick up.

Curtis had a call with a user and also an external support team to try and figure out an issue, which took about 45 minutes.

Curtis didn’t know how to do something he had seen a ticket for, so after he tested the boardroom to ensure it was working for a meeting, he did a 30 minute call with someone on his team so they could show him what to do.

After getting that done, Curtis had lunch and then after lunch, he had some project work to do, which was mostly just developing and writing up a process as well as creating a flow chart for it.

Once that was done, Curtis walked home.

Kim’s Day

Kim doesn’t really have much to report on today! She spent her her morning organising a meeting room for someone so had to kick people put of one and find others for them and talking with a hotel in regards to some local accommodation that needs to be booked.

For the afternoon Kim was talking with all the vendors for the holiday party and taking a fair few incoming calls. She also ordered the regular pizza for tomorrow.

That’s it in a nutshell really!

Helpin’ Out

Curtis got home crazy fast and watched the Leafs game, where they did very well!

As well as that, Curtis washed his hockey kit and folded and put away some laundry that we had out.

Kim got home briefly and then went back out again to go and help out at pole.

Kim went to the pole studio to help out at reception. This involved greeting people, handing out wrist bands and answering any questions when the receptionist was busy. As a result of helping, Kim now has a spare class!

After Kim’s pole help, she came home and had some dinner, then went up to the supermarket to get a few things.

We watched some TV and Kim ordered some things she needed for the holiday party.

Place 72 – Day 177: Vancouver, BC – The Catch Up

Curtis’ Day

Curtis was actually looking forward to going back to work.

Curtis got to work and got caught up, but had a meeting right when he got in, too, so he went into that and then after he spent the whole morning just chatting with colleagues and getting the low down on what’s happened whilst he was away.

Once that was done, Curtis got some tickets done in the afternoon, with a little bit of project work thrown in, but mostly ticket work, which was perfect.

Curtis left for the day and walked home (in the dark!).

Kim’s Day

Kim was greeted with a very warm welcome! Apparently there had been a lot of travel to book while Kim was away and her teammate who covered hadn’t been on front desk for that long for 2 years!

She also had a warm welcome from emails and messages. It took Kim a while to go through them all and was catching up with people at the same time.

She then went into the social team meeting and made plans for the next couple of weeks.

After the meeting Kim had a bit of time before heading out with 2 teammates to look at the holiday party venue and go over a few of the logistics for there.

When they got back Kim had some lunch and then started writing up some notes from the social meeting.
Then she spent some time updating the social calendar for November and moving furniture in the kitchen for an event that is happening in the afternoon.

They moved tables and chairs to make room and 3 group areas.

Kim then spent some time organising catering and looking up signature cocktails for the winter parties.

Kim is trying to link them to each theme!

She also then took some time to process some of the invoices and attempt to catch up on some of that towards the end of the day!

Relaxed Evening

We had a relaxed evening, just had some tuna pasta for dinner and watched a few videos, nothing strenuous.
