Place 72 – Day 181: Vancouver, BC – 3 Year Wedding Anniversary!

Curtis’ Day

Curtis had his whole day mapped out on his calendar by 10:00!

After his usual admin and team catch up, Curtis started the day setting up a laptop remotely for someone in Charlotte.

Once that laptop was complete, an hour or so later, Curtis got started on a laptop he needed to setup in his office.

Along the way, he was claiming some tickets and completing some quick ones too.

The afternoon consisted of completing said tickets he took earlier in the day as well as doing some research for some more challenging tickets and a ticket in which someone had requested an alternative software to a supported software at the company.

Curtis left the office and headed to meet Kim.

Kim’s Day

Today Kim did the Wiki project. That’s about it really. She had her weekly catch up in the morning with her colleague and the focused on the the Wiki project for the day.

She removed old pages and condensed information. She also booked a dentist appointment and sorted out her expenses for her glasses in the morning.

3 Year Wedding Anniversary!

Today is our 3 year wedding anniversary!

We celebrated with our meal on Saturday, but we celebrated a little more this evening, too!

We met after work and went for a cheap but nice Thai dinner not far from Kim’s workplace.

After our dinner, we had plenty of time to kill, so we went for a drink and dessert at Cactus Club.

We each got an espresso martini, which wasn’t very nice, and Kim got a chocolate lava cake.

We sat here for a bit until we had to leave to head to the cinema!

We watched the film The Gentleman, which is a new UK gangster film. This was really, really good, though it was very rude!

The Gentleman

Our Rating:- 10/10

We left here and headed home, after a really good night! We relaxed for a bit more with some wine and then headed to bed.

A perfect Tuesday night and a perfect anniversary day!

Place 49 – Day 287: Auckland – Crazy Moon!

Curtis’ Day;

Curtis got to work and put on a pot of coffee, which ended up being way too strong!

Curtis had a few things to do again, but this got interrupted when a client said that their website was down, so Curtis had to deal with that which took him up to lunch time.

After lunch, Curtis used the time to get the rest of his cases sorted and he managed to get a few done.

Both of us;

Kim got home and went straight to the gym.

Once Kim got home from the gym, we ate some pizza and chicken for dinner whilst watching a few YouTube videos. Curtis also cooked some rice for us to have with lunch tomorrow.

We watched a few more YouTube videos and then did some accommodation research for our next road trip.

The moon this evening was ridiculously big and bright…looked incredible.

Place 49 – Day 286: Auckland – Hail

Curtis’ Day;

Curtis had a good sleep last night, which was a relief.

Curtis got to work at the usual time and began working on his cases and answering emails.

He had a big chunk of work to get done which he worked on throughout the day.

During lunch, Curtis had to go down to a client as they had an external contractor arrive which Curtis had to help with. Originally, Curtis drove down to the client which was in the city. Unfortunately, there was no parking anywhere and it was raining and hailing so Curtis went back to work and got dropped off to the client by his boss.

Curtis spent a while at the client and then risked the walk back. The wind was so powerful that Curtis nearly got blown over a few times!

Curtis got back to the office, finished off a few cases and did some admin before leaving the office at 16:10.

Both of us;

When we were both home, Kim spent most of the evening booking some things for a trip we are taking soon.

We had leftover chilli for dinner and Curtis made amazing rice again! We watched TV whilst we ate and then got dessert we had popcorn and Maltesers.

Place 49 – Day 285: Auckland – Best Rice Ever

Curtis’ Day;

Curtis just got to work on time after leaving a bit late after he didn’t sleep well at all last night.

Curtis got to work and again, right from the get go, had some emails to check and reply to as well as some other things.

The work seemed to pile on again today, but Curtis did get to do some different, interesting things which made time go fast.

Both of us;

Once Kim got home, we went for a walk to the supermarket, which seemed like a good idea until it started to rain. Luckily, we arrived at the perfect time and got into the shop nice and dry.

As we left the supermarket, it was a much different story! It was absolutely chucking it down…we waited for a bit and then braved it. We ducked into a Chinese bakery and looked at the goods on offer to have another break from the weather. When we left, the rain had subsided a little so we hastily made our way back home.

Once we got home, we made a delicious chilli con carne. Curtis made what is probably the best rice ever made and they whole meal was phenomenal!

We watched a few more episodes of No Offence which made us incredibly tense and then went to bed, hoping to get a better night of sleep.

Place 49 – Day 284: Auckland – Takapuna Beach Walk & Vietnamese Coffee

We woke up fairly early at around 09:00.

We had cereal for breakfast and watched a YouTube video.

After breakfast, Curtis watched the Leafs game and Kim chilled out.

After the Leafs game, we went out to Takapuna and went for a walk along the beach! The weather was absolutely beautiful.

Before we went to the beach, we went to a place called Nam Nam which is a Vietnamese street food place. We got a Vietnamese coffee and a Banh Mi each!

We ate our Banh Mi and drank our Vietnamese coffee and went to the beach.

There was a lot of dogs which was great for Kim. We walked up and down the beach and chatted for ages!

After the beach we went to the shop to get some food for tonight as well as the week.

After the shop, we went back home and relaxed for the evening.

We watched two episodes of a Swedish/British TV show, called Fallet, and then played a bit of fortnite which we haven’t done for a while!

After this, we had our lasagne we bought for dinner.

Post dinner, we watched No Offence (thanks Tom & Maggie for letting us know it’s out!) And then spoke to Kim’s family on FaceTime.

Curtis didn’t get his haircut today as he didn’t want to go somewhere that wasn’t his usual barber…That’s a next week job.

Place 49 – Day 283: Auckland – An Incredible Game & A Birthday Party

We woke up at 10:30 which was the perfect time to wake up!

We had a sausage each from last night as well as scrambled eggs, beans and mushrooms.

Breakfast

We finished up with breakfast and then Curtis watched the Leafs’ pre-season game.

At 14:00, Curtis took Kim to a birthday party! This was for a colleague at work. We stopped by at the supermarket to get some flowers for the birthday girl and some drinks.

Curtis dropped Kim off, got some fuel and went home.

At 15:30, Curtis left to go to his hockey game. As he got halfway down our road, he realised he didn’t swap his glasses for contact lenses, so he turned around, put them in and then was off again.

Curtis got to the rink and had a good feeling about the game! This game was against the Bears, who are currently last place.

Curtis’ team started sloppy and after 2 periods, they were down 1-0.

In the 3rd period, the Scorpions turned it up and scored two goals in the last 5 minutes to come out with a win! Curtis got an assist on one goal and felt that he had a good game in general.

One more game left in the season and then it’s playoff time!

Curtis drove home, showered and ate some pizza. On the drive home, there were some incredible skies!

Kim had a great time at the party. She was playing games and of course drinking, but she really enjoyed herself.

Kim got a lift home via KFC and got herself a twister wrap.

Once Kim got home, we watched some YouTube videos and then went to sleep!

Curtis needs to get a haircut tomorrow but his usual barber is closed so he had to find a new one!

Place 49 – Day 282: Auckland – Catching Up on TV

Curtis’ Day;

Curtis had absolutely no traffic on the way to work so got there 20 minutes early.

The morning was ridiculously busy! Curtis started the day with 5 cases and by 11:00 he had 12! Only 2 cases got done in the morning and then he had his lunch, which was much anticipated.

Once Curtis finished lunch, he planned to have a remote session but the remote software stopped working so it took a while to get that done!

Curtis left to go home and 16:20 and once he got home he wanted for Kim to get back.

Both of us;

Kim went to buy a fan after work and then came home.

We put on a wash and then made dinner together.

We made sausages, potatoes, green beans and gravy!

For the evening, we caught up on Suits and The Great British Bake Off before sleeping.

Place 49 – Day 280: Auckland – Too Tired For This

Curtis’ Day;

Curtis got up and ready as usual and then left the house.

The plan for today was that Curtis would go directly to a client from home in the morning and then go to the office.

Curtis got to the client at around 07:20 and was only there for a short time. He just had to connect the laptop he was delivering to their Wi-Fi and printer and show the user what to do then he was ready to leave.

Curtis drove to the office and started his day.

The day was a bit busier then it had been today, Which was nice, but Curtis felt that he pretty much did the same thing all day!

Both of us;

Once we were both home, Kim got changed and went to the gym. After the gym, we had our dinner which was leftovers from yesterday’s stir fry.

After dinner, Kim went out to see Tabitha for an hour or so and went to the chocolate shop for some dessert.

Once Kim got back home, we sat and watched some videos.

We have decided we are too tired for work and want to go back to traveling without working!

Place 49 – Day 277: Auckland – Curtis’ 23rd Birthday!

We wanted to sleep for a bit today, but we both woke up wide awake at 09:00!

Kim went out and got McDonald’s for breakfast and popped to the shop to get some ingredients for a surprise for Curtis!

In the morning, Kim made mini cinnamon buns, which were great!

Homemade_Cinammon_Buns

Other than this, we did absolutely nothing all day! We played games together, watched TV together and just chilled out. Perfect!

We did have to do some shopping, but that also meant a visit to Little Things again for a coffee, which is now our Sunday tradition.

We finished the shopping and came home. Kim looked up some places for dinner and decided on Tok Tok in Takapuna, which is an Asian fusion restaurant we heard a lot of good things about.

For starters, we shared a Wagyu beef & sriratcha mayo steamed bun which was divine!

Wagyu_Steamed_Bun

For the rest of our meal, we had Shaking Beef (beef with some sort of sauce and vegetables) and crispy duck!

The beef was so-so but the duck was excellent. lovely and crispy!

For dessert, we saw some other people had Vietnamese coffee, so we had one of those each which were amazing as always!

Interesting For From Curtis Here!

We got home around 21:00 and it felt really late! We chilled out for the rest of the evening, had a beer and a whiskey and headed to bed.

It’s been the perfect birthday for Curtis, just completely relaxing and eating great food.

Curtis is off to a client in Thames for the day tomorrow, which is a 1.5 hour drive away so that will be fun!

Place 49 – Day 276: Auckland – Wearable Arts & Post Game Antics

Kim woke up at 08:30 as it was ridiculously warm! Curtis managed to sleep for a bit longer and got up at 09:30.

Once Curtis got out of bed, Kim made pancakes and bacon for breakfast which as ever, was delicious!

After breakfast, we got showered and ready to go out. The weather today was excellent, lovely and warm.

Kim was going out with Tabitha to the city where they went to a ‘wearable arts’ show. Curtis drove them down.

Kim’s Day;

Once Kim and Tabitha got to the city, they found out they needed to buy tickets for the event which they did not do. This meant they could only do the free part, which was a shame but still cool! There were 3 people dressed up in interesting art designs.

After this, they went for a stroll around the city, seen as it was such a lovely day outside.

Curtis picked up Kim and Tabitha and brought they home. Right after that, they went back out again to get some Japanese food for lunch.

Both of us;

Once Kim got home again, we chilled out and Kim and Tabitha watched some TV.

At 16:45, we left for Curtis’ first ice hockey game in a month!

Whilst Curtis was getting changed, Kim and Tabitha went to a pet shop and there was a beautiful husky puppy there!

Curtis was using borrowed skates. They fit well but it was odd for him to get used to. It took the whole first period for him to skate as normal!

The game was a close one, though Curtis’ team outshot the other team by quite a lot! Curtis had some good chances but unfortunately the game ended 0-0.

After the game, we went out for dinner with Tabitha, Colten and his girlfriend Sarah. We went to Goode Brothers as we had the voucher from the quiz night!

We had a good few hours there and it was really nice to chill and just chat. We all good very into the rugby that was on, too!

We left there and drove home, getting home at 22:45. Curtis wasn’t feeling too well so we went to bed.

Tomorrow is Curtis’ birthday!
