Curtis was pretty busy with tickets all morning and each of them was a little different so time flew by! He setup a tablet at reception to be used as the sign in sheet instead of the paper being used before.
After lunch, Curtis tried to get some training done, and got about 30 minutes in before people asked for things to be done!
Curtis finished the day ordering some things which he got approved to buy and then went to meet Kim to walk home.
Kim’s Day
Kim collected up and organised some hoodies to send out and then went into two back t back meetings! The first meeting was a very productive 1-1 with a colleague and then a group meeting to go over the plans going forward for large scale meetings.
After the meetings Kim set up the package of hoodies to be sent out with another item to go. She worked out the price of shipping to include the hoodies in the shipment but it came to an additional $500 so Kim decided against sending the large shipment and just sent the one smaller item.
For lunch Kim popped over to the supermarket and had a nice little sit down.
For the afternoon Kim looked at a few different catering options and drew up a menu that she thinks she will order.
Kim also coordinated with a couple of youth centres in regards to a potential donation of things, and she found one that would like all the items.
As a result Kim has opened the floor to people in the company to bring in things for donation to go to the Youth Centre. She popped out an email and set up a table in the kitchen to make it easy for people to donate!
Amazing Training & 2 Goals!
Kim loved her pole lesson today! It was a great recap session of some of the other lessons and Kim was able to get a move from a couple of weeks ago that she hadn’t managed back then. It was a great success.
Curtis had a hockey game and Kim had the car, so Curtis got a lift with 2 teammates. He met them at the train station car park just up the road.
Curtis had just 5-10 minutes to get changed but made it in time!
Curtis had a great game, getting 2 goals, being on for 3 of his team’s goals and winning 7-2! Big game and really enjoyable!
Curtis set out his plan for the week, which was a bit more project work as some more are ramping up now, which he is glad about.
Curtis had 2 back to back long meetings, so couldn’t get too much done.
The end of his afternoon was a little better as he stated a couple of projects and then finally got to do a bit of training, reading a book he has to read to get a qualification.
Curtis walked home with a stop off somewhere to run an errand, then it was cleaning time!
Kim’s Day
Kim decided to start her day with some breakfast so she sat down and had some cereal!
Kim then went through all of the messaging channels to save photos from the past year and put them in a social folder. Kim then started to make a slideshow for these photos as a 2019 highlight reel.
Kim then sent out a meeting invite that she prepared last week for a holiday pot luck. She made a fee changes and added cookie decorating to the invite and sent it out! She is looking forward to eating all the tasty food!
Kim then started putting together a design for the photo strip for the photobooth.
Kim then popped out for lunch, she dicided to go and get the hoi sin wrap that she had a few months ago. It wasn’t as smothered in sauce so it wasn’t as tasty for Kim but she really enjoyed it still!
When she god back Kim sent out some packages via FedEx and she ordered some more supplies.
Kim then went back and made some changes to the photo strip before heading home.
Kim walked home and drove to the doctors as she had a follow up appointment from the visit last week. Everything seems good which is great news!
Cleaning, Cooking & Training
We both got home around the same time and got started on the cleaning, until Kim had to leave to go training.
Kim’s classes tonight were tough but she really enjoyed them! She learnt her first flip off the pole and watched everyone else do a really cool combo.
The most life changing thing to come out of this class is that Kim has learnt to properly climb today! Up until this point Kim has been hulking her way up and using too much energy, she has now been taught to use her elbow and climbing is now effortless.
This distracted Kim and she just spent ages climbing and not doing the combo, which is fine!
Curtis made dinner for us both, which was spaghetti bolognese, which turned out pretty well! After he was done making that, he did the vacuuming and that was the chores done for the evening, so he just relaxed.
Once Kim returned home, she had some of the spaghetti bolognese and we sat down to watch a couple of TV episodes and YouTube videos before sleeping.

Curtis was able to get some further testing done with a user for his project when he got in and then he had a team meeting to talk about another project that is coming to an end.
After that, there was a few tickets that Curtis got sorted and then spent a long time trying to get something sorted for accounts with a purchase order.
Just before and after lunch, Curtis helped someone with a couple of email issues, which he spent a long time fixing and eventually got that done.
Curtis spent the last few parts of the day changing some guides for his project as well as starting to setup a laptop.
Kim’s Day
One of the first things Kim did this morning was to do the building tour for the new started who came in in the afternoon yesterday.
Kim went from that straight into a meeting that lasted most of the morning for first aid and other things with her teammate. Then from that into making up busniess cards from yesterdays replies. A fair few of them needed a few amendments so that took a while.
After lunch Kim then went into a confrence call meeting in regards to a new system she wants to put in place. It was Kim with a few colleagues and they all received a demo and asked a lot of questions. At the end of the meeting Kim was very pleased with it and is interested in seeing what comes from it all.
After this Kim went to staples to pick up some notebooks, some adhesive hooks and a clock. Kim thought that the hooks might be a good idea for the loose wires in meeting rooms that need to be moved around a lot.
A few people asked for a clock in the kitchen so Kim picked one up at staples. When she got back Kim put the clock up and it looks awesome!
Kim then caught up on a few emails as she spent most of the day in meetings she hardly had a chance to keep up today!
Kim went to an intermediate class today where she wasnt sure she would be able to keep up. Luckily she was able to for the most part which was great!
Kim then walked home before heading out to a different class at another location. This is the same class Kim takes every week and she absolutely loves it. She was able to get most of the moves but could not figure one of them out, but thats just one to practise and get better at.
Busy Evening!
Curtis got home and watched the Leafs’ first game of the regular season.
Kim had 2 training sessions this evening which were pretty much back to back, so she was out for most of the evening.
After that, once Kim got back, we headed out to Richmond for Curtis’ hockey game!
Curtis’ game went really well and he he got one of the player of the game beers from the other team! Curtis’ team won 4-3 against the team they lost 7-1 against before.
Kim was up at 09:00 to go to her exercise class for 10:00.
Curtis had breakfast with coffee and played some games whilst Kim was out.
Video Admin
Kim got back home and had some admin to do with the videos she had taken at her exercise. She had to export them from the GoPro and download them.
Coffee & Lunch
We went out briefly for coffee, but stopped in at Tim Horton’s for some food. Kim got a sandwich and Curtis got a bacon grilled cheese.
We walked on to 49th parallel. Curtis loves their coffee and Kim loves their doughnuts! Kim got a chocolate doughnut and Curtis got a cappucino.
Leafs
Curtis watched the Leafs game, and Kim watched a little bit too! The Leafs dominated, which was awesome to watch.
After watching that, we watched some YouTube and then left to drive to Richmond for Curtis’ hockey game.
Curtis’ Hockey Game
We got to the rink and realised shortly after that neither of us brought our wallets! We told the people on the desk and they were fine with it, luckily.
Curtis’ game went ok, but they ended up losing 4-3, making them now officially the last place team, but its early days!
Curtis played well defensively, but not great offensively.
Homemade Moscow Mules
We got home and Curtis showered. After that, we had a bit of food. Curtis finished the leftover Chinese food and Kim just had pop tarts.
We watched some more YouTube and had homemade Moscow mules which Kim gott the idea from work for! They were great, with quite a lot of booze.
Curtis got to work and had a cold brew that Kim got him and it wasn’t great and actually made Curtis feel a little unwell.
Curtis got a few ticket in the morning and some were a bit more complicated which was excellent for him, making the time go fast.
After lunch, which Curtis ate even though he didn’t feel too good, he was kinda out of things to do, but started doing part of a project which was to write up policies.
The later and later it got in the day, the closer it got to hockey time, so Curtis was getting more and more nervous!
Curtis left and found and umbrella at work, so took that to walk home with!
Kim’s Day
This morning there was no catering, but Kim was in a 2 hour fire safety warden training so that ate up most of her morning. After the course Kim caught up on her emails, mainly with a supplier and the caterers for next week.
Then the weekly pizza came in so Kim sorted that out before jumping on a call with the regular catering company they use to discuss the trail that Kim had used. They talked about a few tweaks Kim wanted to make. It was a really successful call.
Then the fire drill started. Kim grabbed her high vis and ushered everyone out of the building and then spent the time hearding cats to try to get everyone in the same place!
After the fire drill kim and the other new fire wardens had a debrief.
When she got back to the office, Kim took 5 to have a sit down as it was almost 3! Then she rememebrred that she had a 3pm deadline to contact the hotel that she was speaking to yesterday to fully resolve the issue. She sorted all that and then put the remainder of the doughnuts from yesterday out!
Kim then spent most of the rest of her day listening to voicemail messages and picking through the backlog of emails she has.
First Hockey Game In Canada!
Can’t say it went well…
We got back home and had some pizza and then watched some TV. Around 19:15, we left and got into the car, heading to the Richmond Olympic Oval.
The traffic was abysmal and even when we got there, there was a queue to drive into the parking.
The parking is meant to be $2 per hour, but it didn’t give us a ticket so we parked for free!
We got a spot and then as Curtis was walking, he slipped on the wet floor and broke his flip flop, so he had to walk barefoot for the rest of the way.
The arena is huge, but we each finally found our spots.
The changing room was massive, and there is 8 of them, so Curtis had plenty of room!
After a brief changing room discussion, it was warm up time…And then game time!
It started well and Curtis’ team were actually able to get the first goal.
It was a very close game and Curtis had some good chances, but the game ended 6-1 the other way! Technically, it was 9-1, but after a 5 goal lead, the goals stop counting.
Of course, handshakes at the end
After the game, we drove home and were super tired. Now here we are, writing the blog!
We got home and watched some TV after the coffee, but were a little disappointed and also hungry, so we went up to McDonalds for a sneaky cheeseburger and milkshake.
Richmond Night Market
After a relaxing few hours, we jumped a train for 20 minutes to get into Richmond aand meet up with some friends from Curtis’ work. They had invited us to go with them to the Richmond Night Market, as they had fast pass tickets for it!
That’s right, fast pass tickets were needed.
The queue, if you don’t have a fast pass, takes about 1.5 hours or more to get in, which is crazy!
We were in within 5 minutes which was great.
Once we got in we were on the prowl for food.
We ended up sharing some mediocre Korean chicken.
We walked around looking at food some more but couldn’t really decided until we got to the corn on the cob which Kim & Afsara were right on board with!
After the corn on the cob, it was dessert time, and we found waffles on a stick which we got, and those were ok.
We finished the desserts and then went for a wander around the place, looking at all of the ‘things’ stalls, rather than the food. This area was a little less crowded too, which helped.
We grabbed a free yoghurt each as it was near the exit and then left around 21:40, after getting there at 19:00 so it was a good couple of hours!
We got on a train and Afsara & Will got off at the one before us and then soon enough, we were home.
We had a really fun time with them, chatting, eating and just having general fun…We’re looking forward to going out with them again!
