Place 72 – Day 163: Vancouver, BC – Chinese New Year Lunch

Curtis’ Day

Curtis had a busy day right from the start.

He had some things planned to do, which he did do, but also had a few people speak with him and ask for stuff, so he got that done too.

At 12:00, which came around way too fast, Curtis joined in on the lunch that was happening! Everyone put $15 in and shared a big Chinese takeaway!

It was pretty good food and a good chance to socialise.

Curtis didn’t think he’d have much to do after this, as he didn’t have anything planned, but then a few tickets came in which gave Curtis things to do until 16:20 which is when he then had a drink with some colleagues.

Curtis walked home alone as Kim had some more work to do. He got some cool photos on the way home.

Kim’s Day

As she had dropped everything off at work the night before Kim was able to start straight away with securing the new bookshelf to the wall. Shortly after this she popped out to the liquor to pick up the drinks for the afternoon.

A while after she got back, Kim helped set up the IT stuff for the monthly social talks and also got all the pizza set up. Kim orgnaised the talks well by keeping everyone in their times and making sure that everyone had a chance to ask questions.

After ahe cleared up the pizza Kim had a small amount of time to make some progress with her organising around the office so she focused on the area around her desk and arranged printer cartridges to be swapped out and had started to out things back now that the shelves had been secured.

Kim then popped out to get some eggs for one of the desserts for Lunar New Year. When she got back Kim aet up and prepared all of the snacks and printed out the answer sheets for the riddles.
Once the celebrations started Kim ran around the office giving out New Year red envelopes to everyone.

While everyone else had Friday afternoon drinks Kim organised, condensed and labelled all of the decorations and took them back down to storage. She then set a few things up for the week coming and then cleared away everything from the drinks and New Year celebrations.

Late Hockey!

Curtis has a late hockey game, so you won’t see about that until tomorrow as it’ll finish at around 00:00.

We had a bit of food, watched some TV and then headed out to the rink.

Place 72 – Day 140: Vancouver, BC – New Years Day Beach Walk

New Years Beach Walk

After Kim spoke with her family in the morning, we went out to Kitsilano for a beach walk!

The weather was excellent (at the time) for a walk, so we did just that.

We drove out to Kitsilano, parked up and walked down to the beach.

We first stopped at the dog beach for Kim to say hi to some dogs, and then continued on to the human beach.

We got terrific views of the snowy mountains in the distance, too.

We walked along the beach for a while and then it started to rain, so we looked for a coffee shop!

We found one, but upon entering, it was too hot and crowded so we went elsewhere.

Once we found a new place, we got our coffees and, they were small, but pretty tasty!

We stopped at a supermarket on the way back to the car, but didn’t buy anything, so we went back to the car and drove home.

Early Dinner

We at dinner at 17:00, which is early for us! We had sweet chilli chicken with rice and vegetables.

We watched a film, which was alright, but it wasn’t the best we have seen. We don’t even remember the name…

We did some housework and got ready for work tomorrow and then watched some TV before sleeping.

Place 72 – Day 138: Vancouver, BC – Back To Training!

Curtis’ Day

Curtis got to work and there were a few new tickets to take care of.

A couple of these were regarding a recent migration that has started and they were requesting help, so Curtis spent a while dealing with those today.

Along with that, Curtis did a few tickets from people walking up to him and he also made a lot of progress with the project he is working on. He’s nearly finished that!

Curtis walked home in the rain and then did a bit of cleaning around the apartment.

Kim’s Day

Kim started her day by organising herself! She sorted and submitted some expenses from months ago, which was great. She then prepared 2 packages and took them to their separate drop off points just before lunch.

After lunch, Kim started the afternoon by running around giving out ice lollies. She then spent the rest of the afternoon working throughout the backlog of stuff she has put off for months. She also took a little time to look into a few things for next years holiday party!

2 Classes

For the first time in what felt like forever, Kim had 2 pole classes back-to-back and she loved it! It felt great for her to get back out and do some exercise.

Curtis did some more cleaning and admin at home whilst Kim was out.

Once Kim got home, we watched some TV and that was our evening.

Curtis’ leaving work around 15:00 tomorrow as its NYE and the office closes then!
