Place 49 – Day 359: Auckland – Steady Progress

Curtis’ Day;

Curtis got to the client and his colleague was not there, but Curtis did get it around 07:20 which was earlier than usual for this client.

The day started with Curtis needing to finish a machine from Friday, which took roughly 2 hours to finish and then a few more minutes deliver to and train the user.

Curtis had the odd thing to do here and there after this until around 12:00 when he went to get a coffee and had a bit of a walk.

After this, Curtis was pretty full on until 15:00, but then he had a few things to help people with and, before he knew it, it was 16:20…so much for leaving at a decent time!

There wasn’t much traffic for Curtis on the way home. When he got back, he did the ironing and collected the laundry.

Both of us;

Kim got back and it was so hot that we needed some fresh air, so we went for a 30 minute walk. We used this time to chat about our days with each other.

We got home and were lazy so had pizza for dinner, with a side salad.

We watched some TV and that was the end of the day for us.

Place 49 – Day 345: Auckland – Hobs Are Hot!

Curtis’ Day;

There was little to no traffic this morning, meaning Curtis got to work at a good time.

Curtis had some development work to complete this morning, which he did do so fairly quickly.

There were quite a few phone calls this morning, so Curtis had to amswer those as well.

Curtis had two remote sessions planned, one of which was to investigate why a laptop kept crashing and the other was to talk a client through logging into a server as Curtis was unable to access remotely.

The first session, regarding the laptop, didn’t really wield any results but the second was successful!

After an hour conversation, Curtis was able to access the server and was able to do what was needed.

Curtis worked with a colleague to figure something out, which took a while.

Curtis’ drove home was uneventful and not busy at all. Curtis went to the supermakret on the way home to get some items.

Both of us;

Kim got home but then realised that neither of us got anything we actually needed for dinner, so Kim had to go back out again to get them.

When she got back, she made Thai pork with multiple vegetables including honey roasted carrots!

Whilst making dinner, Kim managed to touch the hob and burn herself, which hurt all evening!

After dinner, we did the usual. Just watching some TV, notably NCIS:LA.

Place 49 – Day 339: Auckland – Hail & Thunder!

Curtis’ Day;

Curtis got to work at his ideal time and wanted to get started on something he had planned but the PC he wanted to work on was turned off, so he had to wait a few hours to do what he wanted.

He was able to get on with one of the few cases he had to do and was able to at least make a start on a few others.

In the mid morning, there was a very large downpour of hail! All of the street was white, as if snow had fallen, but only until the insane amount of rain came, along with the thunder!

Most of the afternoon was taken up with one case, in which Curtis didn’t really get much further.

Curtis did get a mini ‘project’ organised though, which was fun.

For the end of the afternoon, Curtis learned something new which he needs to get done, hopefully, tomorrow!

The drive home was back to being incredibly busy, but it seems there was possibly a crash somewhere, which may explain it.

Both of us;

The pair of us were hungry when we arrived home, so dinner was the priority. We had leftover risotto and watched some TV.

Once our 1 hour TV show finished, Kim went out to see Tabitha at the usual gathering place of ‘The Chocolate House’.

Once Kim got home, we watched NCIS:LA and then had another early night!

Place 49 – Day 324: Auckland – Spontanious Bonfire Night Celebrations!

Curtis’ Day;

Curtis had nothing to do pretty much all morning today, which was fairly boring!

In the afternoon, around 14:30, he started to do some development work and that lasted for the rest of the day, with some struggles along the way, but it kept Curtis busy and was pretty interesting.

Both of us;

When Kim got home, we made our dinner which was teriyaki chicken, rice, carrot, hoisin asparagus and sweetcorn topped with Japanese mayonnaise.

We watched The Big Bang Theory whilst we ate and then the fireworks started for firework night outside.

Kim heard these and found out that her friend was on a hill setting off some fireworks, so she went to join her for an impromptu bonfire night celebration!

Kim got home and we watched the latest NCIS:LA before sleeping.

Place 49 – Day 307: Auckland – Doctor Visit

Curtis’ Day;

Curtis was working from home today due to having the doctors right after his work time, meaning he wouldn’t get home in time otherwise.

Curtis’ morning was slow, so he did his usual admin and then did some training for pretty much the whole morning, with a few small cases to do in between.

After lunch, Curtis got a little busier, having the odd thing to do, but again, not a very busy day.

After work, Curtis drove to get Kim from her work so we could go to the doctor.

Both of us;

We got to the doctor and didn’t have to wait too long to go in.

Curtis was going to the doctor as he had an odd ear/jaw pain for the last week so wanted to get it checked. Luckily, the doctor couldn’t see anything bad with the ears, so thinks it may be more of a jaw issue so gave Curtis some jaw exercises to complete and see if that helps.

When we got home, Curtis made some of his excellent rice to go with our leftover fajita meat and sauce.

Once we ate we watched NCIS:LA and some other TV shows and then made lunch and went to bed. Crazy that it’s Wednesday tomorrow already!

Place 49 – Day 293: Auckland – Two Busy Mornings

Curtis’ Day;

Curtis got to work and it was just himself and his boss on the helpdesk from 07:30 until 11:30, and boy didn’t they know it!

The morning was non-stop, with almost anything that could go wrong goung wrong and even Curtis’ work’s remote access software was having a day off and not working!

The afternoon was less bad, with Curtis having pretty much one long phone call, rather than a few shorter ones.

When Curtis drove home, it was surprisingly busy again, and the sun was incredibly warm.

Both of us;

When we both got home, Kim exclaimed how busy her morning was, so it turns out we both had busy mornings.

We went to the shop to get strawberries and then came home and went right back out of a walk in the park next to our house.

Once we got home, Kim made delicious Swedish meatballs with mashed potatoes, mushrooms and carrots.

After dinner, we watched the first episode of NCIS:LA season 10!
