Place72 – Day 173: Vancouver, BC – Fancy Dinner

Helping A Friend

We woke up and had a nice cooked breakfast of scrambled eggs, mushrooms, toast and hash browns.

After we got ready, Kim went out to meet a friend who pulled a hamstring, so she could give her something to help with the pain.

Modus Coffee

Kim got back and we went out for some coffee!

We went to Modus coffee which is meant to be pretty good.

We got a really nice mug, which was great. Kim got what was called a ‘real’ cappucino, which is tiny and Curtis wanted a bigger coffee so he got a latte.

The latte looked great and was pretty tasty, but Curtis likes it stronger. Kim’s cappucino was very bitter, so Curtis drank it instead!

Cinema Time!

We took the train out to Metropolis so we could go to the cinema.

We went to watch Zombieland: Double Tap as we really enjoyed the first one so wanted to see if the second lived up to it.

We thought that it was just as good as the first, really funny, a good amount of action and great animation/effects.

Fancy Dinner

On the walk back from the train station, we both got some amazing photos of the city!

We got back home and had a really nice fancy dinner of cheese, wine, crackers, relish and meats! It was really nice and relaxed, which was great.

We watched some TV and then got ready for work tomorrow before heading to bed.

Place 49 – Day 236: Auckland – Long Phone Calls & Ninja Way Home

Curtis’ Day;

Curtis got to work and a change had been made overnight which didn’t work correctly! Curtis therefore spent about an hour helping to rectify the issue.

After that, Curtis answered the phone and ended up being on that call for about 2 or so hours!

Curtis finished the call and still bad something to do, before finally having lunch.

The afternoon wasn’t much more chill, but at least it went fast!

Curtis left the office and headed home.

On the way home, the normal slip road he uses was crazy busy, so he decided to find an alternate route. Curtis found a route he didn’t realise existed and it took about the same amount of time to get home! Ninja!

Both of us;

We had pizza for dinner because we were too lazy to get anything else.

We watched the last two episodes of modus and it was my 20:30!

We just chilled out for the rest of the evening.

Place 49 – Day 235: Auckland – Yoga Guru

Curtis’ Day;

Traffic was not great this morning, but he was able to get to the office in time.

It was a very quite day today for Curtis. So much so, that he left an hour early!

Kim’s Evening;

Kim went from work straight to the gym and did yoga! She wasn’t a big fan of it, to be honest!

Both of us;

When Kim got home she made a wonderful dinner! We had roasted duck with hoisin sauce and pasta.

We watched two episodes of Modus and then went to sleep! We’ve nearly finished Modus now…

Place 49 – Day 234: Auckland – Hardcore Gymin’

Curtis’ Day;

Curtis got to work and knew that he had to go to a client at 10:00 so prepared for that. He got to the client at about 10:30 and helped people out for around an hour before going to another client after!

He was only briefly at the second client and went back to the office which is when he had lunch, around 13:00.

Chrtis was pretty busy in the afternoon and ended up working until right up to 16:30 when he realised he had to leave!

The traffic was good and Curtis got home at a good time.

Kim’ Evening;

Kim went right from work to the gym with a work colleague. They were at the gym for a while and did some ‘hardcore gyming’!

After the gym, Kim got to use the free massage chair to relax. A great bonus if the gym!

Both of us;

When Kim got home, we heated up our leftovers and ate them whilst watching Modus.

We then decided we were still hungry and wanted dessert so Kim went out to get some dessert. We had a brownie with some vanilla sauce.

Place 49 – Day 233: Auckland – Busted Hand

Curtis’ Day;

Curtis got to work and had a lot of emails from Friday afternoon to look at, as well as some general helpdesk emails.

Curtis hurt his hand playing hockey yesterday and it was very swollen, bruised and painful this morning so it made things that little bit more difficult!

Curtis had to go on site at 09:15 to look at issues with the boardroom setup he helped with the other day. He wasn’t there too long.

Once Curtis got back to the office, he was pretty full on for the rest of the day but left at 16:20 as he got to a natural stopping point.

Curtis got back home and waited for Kim to come back.

Both of us;

Kim got home and we went to the shop to get some items for dinner.

We decided we wanted sweet chilli crispy beef stir fry. It was ab excellent decision! It was very tasty and pretty easy to make. We followed it with a cookie in a cup.

We watched 2 episodes of the 2nd series of Modus and then went to sleep. Curtis is at a client tomorrow morning again, which is fun!

Place 49 – Day 232: Auckland – Steak Sandwich & Chatting With The (semi) Pros

We woke up at 11:00 and didn’t have anything for breakfast. We needed to do the shop anyway, so we went to do the shop but stopped in at a bakery also!

Before we went to the bakery, we went to go to Coffix but noticed it had a new name! They have left the Coffix name and changed to the name Little Things. The coffee was a little more expensive then before, but we spoke to them and it’s their own blend from Columbia, Kenya & Ethiopia.

The coffee was delicious and really well made too! We got our coffee and then went to the bakery. Curtis got a very large croissant and Kim got a chocolate Danish.

We ate our breakfast and then did the weekly food shop. The shop got incredibly busy so that was time to leave!

We got home and just chilled out for hours! We played some games and then needed to have some food before Curtis played hockey, so Kim made an awesome steak sandwich!

The photo doesn’t look great but it was amazing!

We ate our food and then watched some TV before Tabitha came over as she was coming to hockey with us.

Once we arrived at the rink, there was a Semi-Pro hockey game going on. This is the NZIHL, the top league in New Zealand. We got to watch the last period but then Curtis’ team had to figure out where to get changed!

Curtis’ team ended up getting changed in the same place as the home team, Botany Swarm! It was a cool experience and then got to chat with a lot of the players and have a laugh, too.

The game went OK until the last period when Curtis’ team fell apart and lost 2-1 in the end after being 1-0 up until then!

Curtis got 6 minutes in penalties but we won’t go into that…

We came home and Tabitha went home. We then wanted to watch the last episode of Modus, so we did that before going to bed.

Place 49 – Day 231: Auckland – Girls Pamper Day

We woke up at around 08:00 and Curtis went out to get breakfast. He drove down to McDonald’s which was very busy! There was also a lot of fog so it meant driving a little slower.

Whilst Curtis got breakfast, Kim got showered and ready for the day.

We ate our breakfast and watched some YouTube videos and then Kim headed out for the day.

Curtis did nothing of interest for the rest of the day!

Kim’s Day;

When Tabitha arrives Kim met her outside and they headed into the city to celebrate her birthday!

As it was 9:30 when they arrived in the city centre parking was a breeze so they were about half an hour ahead of schedule, so popped into a cafe for a coffee.

At about 9:45 Tabitha and Kim walked the small distance to get to the spa where they had a two hour relaxation package booked in – a massage with a body scrub, facial and a foot spa treatment.

Massage_Beds_Auckland

The massage was amazing and relaxing. Tabitha went for a combination facial and Kim went for the hydration facial. They lady was very informative and taught Kim loads about her skin and what she is doing wrong with it! After this Tabitha and Kim sat in massage chairs while they had the foot spa, it was so lovely, even though Tabitha’s massage chair didn’t work.

At the end of it all Kim’s massage therapist had another chat about products, routines and stuff, she was so lovely. We then had a chat with her about her travels, as she is French. It was a funny moment when she realised Kim was English because she noticed that she echoing understand her better than she could the Kiwi accent!

We said goodbye / au revior to everyone and headed back to the car. On the way we met up with another one of Tabitha’s friends and we all then drove back to the North Shore to get our nails done.

The three girls deliberated for a while on what colour to pick and Kim even got a stern ‘hurry up’ from one of the nail artists!

After their nails were done the girls all fancied some lunch and Kim had a great idea to had to the cat cafe, so they all jumped in the car and headed over there.

Wife_With_Cat_Auckland_Kim

It was so much fun to spend about 40 minutes playing with all the cats, that was until one of them decided to relive themselves on our bags! We took that as our hint to leave.

With so much cuteness in one room we forgot to eat and Tabitha’s friend had to get to the Esplanade to start her shift so thy all hopped back in the car and took the slow road into Devonport.

It was a little odd heading that way again as Kim left the Esplanade nearly 3 months ago! Doesn’t time fly??
They stopped at a local cafe when they arrived in Devonport for ‘lunch’, it was 4pm! No wonder everyone was so hungry!

Each girl grabbed a savoury, sweet and a drink item.

The portions were massive and they all needed up taking takeaway containers! Which is good for Curtis who loves curly fries and brownies!
Tabitha and Kim had a little walk around the town and then headed home.

Curly_Fries_Brownie_Lunch_Auckland

It was such a brilliant day celebrating a wonderful persons birthday!

Both of us;

When Kim got home, we relaxed for a while and then Curtis had an omelette as dinner along with leftover curly fries from Kim’s dinner.

We then watched a couple of episodes of Modus with lemon cupcakes with vanilla sauce!
