Place 72 – Day 932: Vancouver, BC – French Patisserie

We woke up and had a nice breakfast at home and then got ourselves ready for the day.

The weather wasn’t good today, but we wanted to go out to a cafe or patisserie, so we found one and drove out there.

It turns out, we actually went to the wrong one! That being said, we did get to have a delicious chocolate coffee cake there!

Chocolate & Coffee…A delicious combo!

We did have a coffee each with this, too, but unfortunately they were no where near as nice as they looked. We plan to come back out and go to the other patisserie we were meant to go to, which was only a block over!

We were parked at a mall, so it made sense to go there to do our weekly shop but also a few other things. We picked up a frame and some other items from Homesense and then went to the supermarket.

We drove back home after a pretty successful day and then when we got home we did some relaxing then Kim made a veggie lasagna for dinner!

We watched a bit of TV and then Kim had a bath and watched a film.

We watched some more TV after Kim’s bath and then headed to bed. Another busy week is coming!

Place 72 – Day 137: Vancouver, BC – Bad Day For Shopping

Shopping

We chose that today would be the day we do some shopping…

We had some scrambled eggs for breakfast and then we got ready and drove up to Metropolis.

When we arrived, we shortly realised how crazy busy it was, as of course, it’s the Boxing Day sales on this weekend.

There was a couple of shops we planned to go in and the first was horribly busy, smelly and cramped, so we weren’t there too long.

We then went to the likes of Sportchek, Winners & H&M, mostly looking for snow trousers of some sort, and jackets.

We came out empty handed and decided to get out of the shopping mall and go to a Starbucks down the road for a coffee. It was a lot quieter there.

We went to Walmart, which was busy, and got a few things we needed for the week.

Leftover Indian Food

We got home and had our leftover Indian food, as well as some popodoms and Naan bread.

We watched some TV throughout the evening, did some online shopping and looked at houses in the place we want to live in.

Place72 – Day 173: Vancouver, BC – Fancy Dinner

Helping A Friend

We woke up and had a nice cooked breakfast of scrambled eggs, mushrooms, toast and hash browns.

After we got ready, Kim went out to meet a friend who pulled a hamstring, so she could give her something to help with the pain.

Modus Coffee

Kim got back and we went out for some coffee!

We went to Modus coffee which is meant to be pretty good.

We got a really nice mug, which was great. Kim got what was called a ‘real’ cappucino, which is tiny and Curtis wanted a bigger coffee so he got a latte.

The latte looked great and was pretty tasty, but Curtis likes it stronger. Kim’s cappucino was very bitter, so Curtis drank it instead!

Cinema Time!

We took the train out to Metropolis so we could go to the cinema.

We went to watch Zombieland: Double Tap as we really enjoyed the first one so wanted to see if the second lived up to it.

We thought that it was just as good as the first, really funny, a good amount of action and great animation/effects.

Fancy Dinner

On the walk back from the train station, we both got some amazing photos of the city!

We got back home and had a really nice fancy dinner of cheese, wine, crackers, relish and meats! It was really nice and relaxed, which was great.

We watched some TV and then got ready for work tomorrow before heading to bed.

Place 72 – Day 153: Vancouver, BC – Free Clothes?!

Fry Up!

We both really fancied a fry up this morning and although we didn’t have everything for it, we made it work!

We had a sausage, egg and cheese muffin with beans and hash browns. Some bacon would have made it perfect, but it was already exactly what we wanted.

Air Vents

We got ready for the day and then we went out to grab a coffee.

We stopped in at Home Depot to see if they had any closable air vents as the ones we currently have cannot be closed and it is freezing! We didn’t find any, so we just went for a coffee.

We got a coffee from Starbucks and it was one of the best from there we have had!

Kim didn’t actually have a coffee, but a hot chocolate and Curtis had a flat white.

We finished up our coffee and headed home, where Kim sorted out some videos we had on the GoPro, which was something we have been meaning to do for a while now.

Free Clothes?!

Kim went shopping whilst Curtis watched hockey as she has a bonus from work to spend from work on work clothes!

She drove out to Metropolis which was quite busy. Once parked, Kim went to a LOT of shops, looking for different things and trying them on.

Kim was there for a total of around 4 or so and it was a bit productive but she didn’t get as much as she had hoped.

Church’s Chicken

We had been told that Church’s Chicken was good, compared to KFC at least.

Kim drove past one on the way home and thought it would be a good time to try!

We ate this whilst we watched some TV and chilled out for the evening.

The chicken was alright, but the breading was odd.

Providing we get good weather, we plan to do something fun tomorrow!
