Place 72 – Day 910: Vancouver, BC – Great Britain Hockey & Renewed Driving Licenses

Curtis was up at 05:45 to watch Great Britain play the first game of the world championships against Russia.

The game went about as you would expect, with GB losing 7-1, but they actually played really well.

Curtis went back to bed after hockey and then got another hour or so of sleep in before we got up.

Curtis had a homemade breakfast sandwich for breakfast and Kim had French toast.

We got ourselves ready and walked down to the driving license office to renew our licenses and health cards.

We got there early and were able to get it done, and it was nice and fast! We do need to call about our health cards, apparently, but that’s not a big deal!

Once we got that done, we got doughnuts and coffee and went for a little walk.

When we got home, we watched the F1 qualifying and then Curtis watched the next Leafs playoff game whilst Kim did some work she needed to get done.

After both of us were done, we had some leftovers for dinner and then used the rest of the evening to just relax.

Curtis is staying awake to watch Great Britain’s second game tonight, which starts at 02:15! Late one for him!

Place 72 – Day 17: Vancouver,BC – Reverse Shopping & Detective Pikachu

Great Britain Ice Hockey

Curtis was up at 07:00 to watch Great Britain play against France with the winner staying up in the top division.

Great Britain fell behind 3-0 but turned it around, got into overtime and ended up winning 4-3 and are staying in the top division!

Reverse Shopping

We got up and ready after relaxing for a bit and then we walked, in the slight rain, to the train station to get to Metropolis.

We started by doing some reverse shopping, in which we returned a couple of pairs of incorrectly ordered shoes.

Terrible Lunch

We were both very hungry so we looked around for somewhere to eat. We found The American Cheesesteak Co. Where they were selling a beef wrap for $1.99! That soubded like an amazing price, so we got one each.

This was where it got interesting…After a few bites, we noticed there were no beef chunks, but instead, beef salami! We asked about this, as did many other customers, and they said that is beef and that is what they sell…we were expecting chunks of beef, but it was cheap.

We ate quickly and moved on.

Homesense

We walked around homesense, looking at items we could potentionally get for our apartment once we move in.

We were in here for a while, but then wanted a coffee so we went to get one.

Coffee

We visited Blenz Coffee, which we find hit and miss, and Curtis’ coffee wasn’t great. It was just a cappucino, but it was WAY too hot and didn’t even taste good, which was a shame.

Detective Pikachu

We watched Detective Pikachu in a cinema which had vibrating seats and some, more expensive, seats even moved with the film!

We went into the film with low expectations, but we actually really enjoyed it. It seemed to keep getting better and the plot twists were excellent! The CGI was questionable but the general animation was fantastic.

Coffee Crisp

We came home and weren’t really hungry for dinner, so instead we had a coffee crisp each, which are coffee flavoured chocolate bars. These were quite nice, but we weren’t hungry enough to have a full meal.

We watched TV for a few hours and then got some sleep.
