Place 72 – Day 862: Vancouver, BC – Another Desk & Beautiful Day

Family Chat

Kim’s family wanted a chat, so after breakfast we got ready and had a chat with them for an hour and a bit before we had to head out.

Another Desk

We picked up a desk we had seen a while ago which we are going to use for Curtis’ office in the new apartment.

We got that and it wasn’t too far from our new apartment so we walked over to pick it up and walked it to the new place.

We dropped it off and then went for a nice long walk.

Beautiful Day

The weather was beautiful today, nice and sunny but not too hot, so perfect to be outside, which clearly everyone else thought the same as it was busy outside!

We got a coffee for Curtis and then went to get Kim and ice cream. Whilst we waited in the queue for that, we saw subway had ‘potato bun’ snack sandwiches, so we got one those each, too.

We had a really nice long walk to the beach, keeping out of the way of everyone and just really enjoyed the weather.

Hockey & More Furniture Shopping

We got back home and Curtis watched the Leafs game and during that, Kim went out to Homesense to take a look at some other bits of furniture we may need for the new place.

She managed to find a small stool which also has storage that we can use at the entrance to store shoes and to sit on, because why not.

Kim took that over to the new apartment and also a chair from home as she will be at the new apartment tomorrow for some of the day waiting for the new sofa to be delivered!

Sweet Chicken Thighs

We had sweet chicken thighs for dinner along with some more potato salad.

We then relaxed for a bit together and Kim had a nice relaxing bath before heading to bed.

Place 72 – Day 200: Vancouver, BC – Board Games & Ice Cream Sundaes!

Curtis’ Day

Curtis got to work and actually had an onboard to complete, so he got that started and that took up a lot of the morning.

Just before that though, the nitro coffee people and turned up and Curtis spoke with them. They were eventually able to get it fixed! They noticed that when they had cleaned it last time, they’d tightened the taps too much and therefore it created a blockage! That now means the nitro is flowing as it should, which was a win.

Curtis did the onboard until 11:30, when he then went and played board games and had snacks with colleagues. This went on until 13:00.

Curtis used the rest of this time to get the rest of the onboarding done and setup the laptop.

This time led perfectly to the ice cream sundaes in the afternoon, which Curtis was looking forward to!

After eating that, Curtis helped a couple of people around the office with some issues, did some other tickets and then setup the desk for the new person starting Monday.

This took a while as it was being a pain, as usual.

Curtis finished up and then headed home.

Kim’s Day

Kim had an idea for a new Wiki page so she spent a lot of her day making that. She made a travel page and included information and links to hotels and other useful information that people may need all in one place!

In the morning Kim went to the Marriott for a coffee with their rep. It was great to catch up and have a talk about travel.
In the afternoon Kim dealt with a lot of emails organising the dishwasher repairs and other bits and bobs.

Cleaning & Playing Hockey Late!

Curtis got home and did all the cleaning of the apartment, taking out the recycling and cleaning/vacuuming etc.

After that, Curtis sorted his hockey equipment out, packing it away into the car and re-taping his stick.

Kim got back home and we watched some TV and made dinner!

We ate food and then left to go to Curtis’ hockey game, which starts at 22:30!

We will update about the hockey game tomorrow as it’s another late one.

Place 72 – Day 168: Vancouver, BC – Dogs!

Curtis’ Day

Curtis got to work and right away someone grabbed him to assist with a visitor’s guest WiFi connection.

The fix was actually not that difficult, but it took Curtis and his colleague 30 minutes to realise what the actual issue was. Curtis’ coffee went cold whilst he did this too!

This quick start to the morning threw Curtis’ day off, so it took him some time to catch up.

Curtis had an onboard to complete, but before he could do that, he had a meeting with a potential software provider, so once he was done that, he got on with the onboarding.

The laptop was an absolute pain, so that took him some time, but he finally got it done and then had some lunch.

After lunch, Curtis caught up with some ticket work and did a few other things, such as reviewing policies and also some training for some new software.

Curtis met Kim and walked home.

Kim’s Day

Kim did a lot of the Wiki project throughout the day. The other things that cropped up were amazing!

Someone brought their bermesedoodle in and he was VERY well behaved and handsome. Another lady and her husband bought her two month old in a few times throughout the day so Kim had multiple cuddles and it was brilliant!

Some catering came over lunch and it looked amazing, so Kim spent some time setting that up and putting the fridge in the meeting room.

In the afternoon Kim popped across to the shop with her colleague and they picked up some flowers and decaf coffee as the coffee is the one thing that Kim forgot to order ahead of time!

The rest of the afternoon Kim was working on the Wiki project where she sorted through lots of old information to condense it down.

Easy Dinner

We got home and Curtis watched hockey. Kim then had to go out to do her energy exchange, so she walked up there and got a hot chocolate on the way!

Kim got back home after this and we didn’t know what to eat, so we just had sweet chilli chicken with rice and dumplings.

We watched some TV and went to bed pretty early. We were both feeling sleepy today!
