Place 72 – Day 869: Vancouver, BC – Successful Packing Day

We woke up at a really good time and Curtis went out to get some croissants for breakfast.

We ate and got ourselves ready, and then began packing up!

We got most of the bathroom packed up, other than stuff we need for the next couple of days, and then we packed all of our clothes and things in the bedroom, so that’s now empty, other than furniture.

We got a lot of kitchen stuff packed up too and then managed to get a nice long walk in, before we took some stuff over to the new apartment.

We got home and were hungry, so we had some chili for dinner and then it was relax time.

Kim had a bath and then we watched some TV.

We have tomorrow off but we actually move on Tuesday. We need to break down the bed and a few other bigger items and pack the last few things.

Nearly there!

Place 72 – Day 308: Vancouver, BC – A New Bed…Again!

A New Bed

We woke up pretty late, around 12:00, but we had a great sleep!

We had some french toast for breakfast and then got ready for the day.

We had finally got sick of the bed being broken (yes, it broke in around a month or two, which is just not acceptable for a brand new bed!) So it was time to get yet another.

Kim found a used one on Facebook for a pretty good price, so she headed out to buy that. She had to go alone as there wouldn’t be enough room in the car for both of us!

We got the bed home (it was just 5 minutes away) and took it up to the apartment.

We dismantled the old bed, taking pictures of it along the way to send to the company we bought it from, and once we did that we built the new one.

Luckily, the way we received it was very easy to chuck together, so didn’t take us long.

Cleaning Up Around The Place

We took the opportunity to clear a few things out and tidy up around the place.

We sorted out the cupboard in the bedroom and vacuumed and cleaned all around the apartment.

Curtis took down the organic bin which took a very long time as the elevators were full (the current limit is 2 people, as it should be, so it takes a little longer).

After that, we made the new bed and it seems much, much better and much nicer!

We then got pretty hungry, so did some laundry and then made food.

An Important Film

We had leftover homemade Mexican chicken in the freezer, so we had that with some rice.

We watched the film American Son in the evening, which is a very relevant film for the current climate, regarding the Black Lives Matter movement, thoughts towards police officers and that kind of thing. Very hard hitting but worth a watch for sure.

We then watched some comedy and other TV shows for the rest of the evening.
