Place 49 – Day 301: Auckland – Making Friends Dinner

Curtis’ Day;

Curtis got to work early again and his day was full of the same tribulations as the last two days! Curtis was still fighting with the server that had a virus and spent most of the day sorting that out.

Curtis got into that PC and was able to find a malware scanner to remove the malware, but once he restarted he was unable to get back in again! He got hold of the client and that didn’t help, so he will be going there tomorrow morning to resolve.

Other than that, Curtis had to setup some laptops as well as send a PC to another town with the new system, which meant he had to learn that!

Curtis left work at 16:00 to make up 10 minutes of lunch he didn’t get on Monday.

Both of us;

Kim got home and we drove to the shop to get some items for dinner. Kim made a friend at the shop who saw Kim and said ” Hi, I’m 4!” To which Kim responded with her age and the girl said “that is a lot” which Kim appreciated!

We got home and Danielle and Josh arrived. We invited them over to make them some dinner.

Kim made sweet chilli beef stir fry and it was excellent! Everyone enjoyed it a lot and Danielle and Josh brought over Bundaberg ginger beer to accompany it and a caramel cheesecake for dessert.

We had a lot of fun, most of the time being silly and messing around, but it was great to just hang out.

Kim spoke to her sister as it is her birthday today! Kim ordered her some cakes to her work and Abbie was really appreciative and apparently cried!

Danielle and josh left and Kim did a bit more booking before we watched a few videos and went to sleep!

Place 49 – Day 300: Auckland – Late Night Art

Curtis’ Day;

Curtis got to work far too early at 07:10. Once he got to work, he pretty much spent the whole morning looking at issues with a server which had a virus. Curtis was unable to do pretty much anything with the server, so it was frustrating but rewarding when it was fixed!

After lunch, Curtis setup two laptops for people. There wasn’t much variety for Curtis’ day, but he did get a lot done, which was nice.

Kim’s Evening;

Kim went out with Tabitha when she got home from work. She went down to the city where there was a map to follow of different art exhibitions around the city.

Unfortunately, when Kim got to the city, she was unable to see the first few places which were shown on the map!

Kim did get to see some exhibitions, but there was nothing particularly great there, which was a shame.

After a couple of hours, Kim and Tabitha started to get hungry and went to O Bar which is a really popular Korean restaurant. Usually, the food is really good, but Kim wasn’t too thrilled with it this time, so she took her leftovers and gave them to a homeless person.

Kim got some cool photos of the city whilst out, as you can see below.

Both of Us;

Kim then came home and showered, then we watched the latest NCIS: LA.

Place 49 – Day 299: Auckland – Baked Potatoes!

Curtis’ Day;

Curtis got to work incredibly early and spent half the morning doing admin.

14 laptops arrived which Curtis then had to setup and configure, as well as install some more hardware inside. This took up all of the morning!

Curtis finished lunch and then had a remote session to complete. He luckily managed to complete that as he was having trouble connecting last week.

Most of the afternoon we then taken up by a possible virus on a server which Curtis then had to look into and resolve.

Both of us;

Once we were both home, we just had to go for a walk as the weather was incredible! We walked up to the shop to buy some baked beans for dinner.

For such a long time, Kim has wanted a baked potato for dinner, and we finally found a big enough potato to do so! Curtis got a ‘kumara’ (Sweet potato) for his.

We got back from our walk and had a baked potato with cheese and beans.

We then watched the first episode of the new Apprentice series and a few YouTube videos before going to sleep.

This time last year!
