We were made aware this morning that we had some Airbnb guests coming today, so it was all hands on deck to get the rooms and the house ready.
We swept, vacuumed, dusted, polished, cleaned & cleared everything! We made the beds for the guests also and then that part was done and it was time for a coffee break!
We then cleaned the bathroom and then had to go and buy food for dinner, so we drove to the town to get those items.
We weren’t in town for long but got back and went straight outside to build the best chicken house of all time!
We built it with 2 floors for the chickens and we think it turned out pretty well!
We came inside, had another coffee and Kim made a delicious Spaghetti Bolognese!
As we sat down to eat, the airbnb guests turned up but at the same time, so did our hosts cousins!
We sat and chatted for a bit and then the cousins left and so did the guests who went to get food.
We would like to have a bonfire or maybe just make smores on the log fire (depending on weather) as it is our last day!
We have had an awesome time here and are sad to be leaving tomorrow!

We started the day with the plan to rake the garden, which we started yesterday. As with everything, plans changed.
The goat, which we have named petal due to her petal-shaped ears, decided to use some conveniently placed bricks to climb up and jump over the fence, so we quickly decided that we had to move those bricks!
Moving the bricks took a while and, along with seeing a Huntsman spider, we eventually moved them to where we were going to use them to build a little chicken house.
We made a chicken house from the bricks and it looked pretty good!
We decided that we would change the location of the house, so we had to pick up all of the bricks and move them to another location.
Along with doing this, we finished some raking and we did some other tasks such as moving some wood from one place to the next.
We then built a log wall as we did in Norway!
We finished up with a cuppa outside and then came in for a Thai Green Curry which was tasty!
It was a long busy day, but a good one!

Today’s work was some gardening and shopping.
We started by hanging out laundry and then we swept the deck of leaves. We then went to the garden and raked. We cleared up leaves, sticks and other items around the garden. We got all of this and put it in a wheelbarrow to take it to the front of the house as we planned to have a bonfire!
We finished with this and had some lunch. We had a medley of fruit with a coffee!
We both then went to get some shopping from Apollo Bay. We took the drive down the winding mountainous and forest areas and saw the beautiful views surrounding us on Apollo Bay.
We arrived and took a quick walk on the beach as it was a much warmer day.
We went to a couple of stores to find the items we needed and then we hopped back in the car and came back.
We got back and made some dinner. We had a lovely roast dinner again!
We saw a koala, and heard him! He was very low in the tree and was moving around.
We finished the night watching some TV and drinking a hot chocolate…A perfect night!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY KIM! 🎉🎈
We were up nice and early to get into town and get stuff done with our host.
We went to a place called Forrest and had a coffee at a brewery there.
We then left and went to Colac, which is the nearest big town to do some admin and shopping.
We went to the car registration place, the bank and then our host went for a coffee with a friend and we just went for a wander around.
Once we were done with our wander, we went to where our host had choir practice. We just sat around and listened whilst using the free wifi. We were having a great time laughing at people having disagreements about the music and we were in general just provided with excellent entertainment!
We left here and went to a bakery and had a pie!
We did a bit of shopping and then went to pick up a goat, which was great fun!
Kim had the goat sat with her on the ride back to the house and it was surprisingly good.
We got the Kidd back to the house and put it with the sheep as a bit of company. We soon realised that the goat had escaped and was wondering around outside the garden! We walked around with it and then she decided to run away a little bit! Curtis had to catch the goat and carry it back. We put it in the garage for tonight to get it alimatised to everyone here and the location.
For dinner, we had a pre roasted chicken from the supermarket with potatoes and vegetables. It was delicious! We then had chocolate cake with ice cream for dessert.
We had a great day, although we were doing things from 08:30 to 18:30!

We woke up later then we planned as Kim’s phone was in the wrong time zone!
We got up and Kim made breakfast. It was planned to be pancakes but ended up being French toast with fresh fruit as we didn’t have the ingredients for pancakes.
We ate and then went out to start a spring clean! We emptied a room and cleaned it from head to toe as well as throwing out things that we didn’t need. We hung up laundry and had a laugh as Curtis fell over a fence! (he was fine)
We relaxed, had a drink and a cheese toast and then went with our host to Apollo Bay’s centre!
Before we left, we saw a koala by the house making noise. There was a family of them there this morning!
Our host has choir tonight, so we are just going to explore the area!
We had a pizza which was delicious and then explored around Apollo Bay.

We left our Couchsurfing host at about 06:30 and we had a 9 hour drive!
We ensured that we stopped at McDonald’s on the way because we needed a healthy breakfast!
We got on the road at astound 7:15 or so and headed to Apollo Bay. The journey was easy and we got to Mount Gambier in no time! Mount Gambier is a big tourist attraction which we were aware of, so we made sure to stop there on our way.
First off, we stopped for lunch which we got from muffin break for a decent price! Their coffee is delectable.
We left here and headed to the blue lake.
This is a volcanic crater which is used as a water supply and is incredibly blue!
We left here and headed just down the road to the sunken garden. This is a garden which has been crafted around a sinkhole, which was interesting! At least until we came across 2 beehives and decided to leave!
During the drive, we got more and more into a forest and more and more up a mountain!
We are actually staying just past Apollo Bay and basically on a mountain!
We got to a point where it was a gravel track and also very close to the edge, but we survived!
There was a lot of parrots flying around too, in beautiful colours.
We arrived at our helpX an the lady is wonderful! We had a coffee and a chat and then had some food along with a chat, so we can’t complain!
