Today was Canada Day, which is usually a celebration, but with everything going on this year with regards to how Indigenous People have been treated in the past and settlers stealing the land and abusing the children, we chose to reflect today, instead of celebrate.
We did have some appointments today. Curtis had an eye exam and Kim had a massage. Once we both did those, we went to join a protest regarding the mistreatment of Indigenous People, with a heavy focus on the residential school issues being re-raised this year.
We were there for a couple of hours, listening to many Indigenous People speak, and then we grabbed a coffee and walked back home.
We relaxed and had some food, just a mix of things we could find in the fridge and freezer.
We watched some TV and went fora walk in the evening. It really felt like a Saturday today and it’s not even Friday yet!
