Place 72 – Day 325: Vancouver, BC – COVID-19 Test

Curtis’ Day

Curtis had a very busy and fast day today.

He did a lot of tickets throughout the day and did some testing for a colleague, too.

He did a computer checkup for someone and had a 1 hour chat and troubleshooting with someone to fix something, which eventually worked.

Curtis did some more testing and more tickets and then was done for the day.

Kim’s Day

Today Kim worked from home again. The reasoning behind this is that Kim had a slight cough and tickly throat yesterday and as a result she popped to get a COVID test and went home. Kim feels fine, but now that the office has reopened she feels its best to get a quick test done and be sure it is just allergies or changes in the humidity. She would much rather be safe than sorry aa she fits the requirements of someonewho should go and get a test. So when Kim left work yesterday she went to an urgent care unit in downtown and had a COVID test, it didn’t hurt, but it was unpleasant. It felt like pressure next to the eye and at the top of the nose. The actual swab took only a few seconds, Kim was only in tbe room for 3 minutes. It was great to see how many other people were getting tests for lower level symptoms too.

For today Kim spent a lot of her morning catching up on FYI emails and working through some of the things she may have missed over the past few weeks. Kim also spoke with FedEx in regards to a difficult shipment that she has been struggling with for a while and hopefully starting to make some progress.

At midday Kim hosted yoga and she also had a meditation video at the end. Kim picked both videos today and really enjoyed them. Shortly after yoga Kim joined a short call with a few people to celebrate someone going on Maternity leave. It was great to see some faces Kim hasn’t seen in a while and wish the lady well.

Mid afternoon Kim called the helpline in regards to getting her test results, but the lab only got the swabs at midday today so she was asked to call back tomorrow afternoon, so thats what she will do. Kim is 90% sure its nothing! She updated her manager and let her know the updated timeline.

In the afternoon Kim started listening to her voicemails. This required her to restart the system, so she did that and started listening to the voicemails. There were so many, still some for tomorrow!

Evening

We played some of the Golf game we played yesterday again and then some other games before we got a bit hungry.

We made enchiladas for dinner, which was lucky as we had some stuff frozen we could use for filling, so it was nice and quick.

We watched some TV and played some games in the evening.

This Time Last Year!
