Curtis’ Day
Curtis spent most of the morning getting someone to setup a new laptop for them, in one of the US offices.
He had to chat with someone and get them to setup the laptop by following his steps and then that person left the office and so Curtis was handed off to someone else.
Luckily, that was the final part of the setup and it all went nice and smoothly, so the new laptop now has a home!
Curtis had his lunch and then a long team meeting in the afternoon.
After the team meeting, Curtis did a couple of tickets and one that came in right as the meeting finished and then he was done!
Kim’s Day
For once Kim was up and ready with plenty of time to get ready for the UK social call and het computer was not working. So Kim did the call from her phone and after worked from her phone for a bit before she took the battery out to restart it.After Kim did a little admin at home she headed into work and stopped off to return a few items back to a store on her way in.
Once Kim got into the office she continued working on signs for the office and she sent a few emails to IT to ask for help with a number of things.
In the afternoon Kim hosted the east coast social call and they had a chat before playing a few games. After the games Kim joined another call and watched the cribbage final and it was fun!
After one team won Kim sent out a email to the company to celebrate and she sent the winners some gift cards. Kim and her colleague popped to the liquor store as they had to be in the office until 9pm potentially, so they may as well make the most of it and have a catch up.
Kim joined in the west coast catch up after having a quick call with Danielle in New Zealand, which was great! On the social call they played even more games and Kim made her black lives matter sign to have for the protest that was happening in the evening.
Once they noticed that the protest started to march Kim set up a timelapse, took her sign and went downstairs. Kim stood back to one side and watched thousands and thousands of people walk past and it was amazing and so moving.
Just in front of the office building was a snack, water and hand sanitizer stand with first aid people. It was so peaceful and powerful, Kim was so thankful to be able to be a part of it.
There were so many people of all races, ages and genders, it was beautiful and very emotional to be a part of. Kim and her colleague went back up to the office and had a drink while they waited for the people to come in and install the dishwasher. It was a great evening and the office has a new dishwasher!
Burgers!
When Kim got home after the dishwasher was replaced at the office, it was around 20:00, and we found some food to order, as with each Friday.
We got some food from LOCAL which serves pub style food.
Kim got a chicken burger and Curtis got a breakfast burger…Both were pretty great!
We watched some TV and a movie and then headed to bed. We were both tired this week!
