Place 72 – Day 99: Vancouver, BC – New City, New Car!

Insurance Advice

We had breakfast and then got ready to go up to the insurance place near us.

We wanted to get advice on both buying a car, what the steps are as well as a rough estimate on insurance.

We got all the information we needed, the required forms and a very expensive quote for the insurance.

We headed back home to wait for some people coming who we were hoping to buy a car from!

Buying A Car

The car arrived and it seemed exactly what we were looking for. We did a test drive and it seemed perfect, as well as doing the required checks.

There is a scrape on one of the wheel arches, but we can live with that.

We bought a 2012 Ford Fiesta, which is perfect for what we need!

We paid for the car (which we ended up having to do with part cash due to bank limits) and then we went back to the insurance company to get our license plates as well as to say we have bought the car.

Unfortunately, the paperwork wasn’t fully completed so we had to leave and wait for the people we bought it from to send us the information.

We went to Starbucks to get a coffee and, whilst there, we got the message so went all the way back to the insurance place.

We spoke with a lady but we were missing a further piece of documentation! We have to get the lady to bring it out to us, which is frustrating!

This means we can’t drive it (which we didn’t plan to yet anyway) and we have no plates or insurance.

We plan to get the documents tomorrow and then get it sorted Monday evening.

It has been a crazy busy day and we didn’t get back for a few hours, so by the time we were done it was 16:30 and dinner time.

We got a pie for dinner, which was alright. We ate that and then realised we hadn’t bought a lot of things we needed, so we went back to the shop and got them.

We came back and spent the rest of our evening in front of the TV.

We have something a little different planned tomorrow, which should be a bit of fun!
