Curtis’ Day
Curtis got to work at 08:45 and began with setting up accounts for a new user. This new user was a bit more tricky as they were a remote user and also had some different accounts to get.
As this was Curtis’ first onboard, it took him most of the morning but then he aslo had to setup the laptop which was in another office so he had to remote into that to get it done.
Curtis had lunch around 13:15, which was leftover fajitas from last night!
After lunch, Curtis had another onboard to do but it took much less time. He then setup a laptop for them, too.
Curtis had a few things to do late afternoon and that led perfectly to home time.
Curtis walked home alone as Kim was out with a work colleague.
Kim’s Day
Kim left about an hour early today and took a slightly different route than normal and ended up completely walking past work by a block and getting all confused and disorientated.
Once she finally made it into the office it was straight to work with helping set up the hot breakfast. Kim unwrapped pastries, bread for toast and other delicious breakfast items. Kim then sat down with a few teammates to have a nice hot breakfast!
After the set up, Kim got started on continuing setting up her computer, this only lasted about 5 minutes before everyone headed to the Hackathon kick off talk. It was fun and informative!
During the talk, the CEO reminisced on having guitar hero and rock band being readily available to play, so shortly after the talk Kim and a colleague went to the storage and dug out the rock band set up and started assembling it in the kitchen.
Towards the end of the assembly of the game, the team Kim works with took a bit of time to eat cake and celebrate one of the ladies birthday. It was so nice!
Then it was time to set up lunch! That’s right, a hot breakfast and hot lunch are being provided for the Hackathon. Kim could get used to this!
The Greek food was organised in the kitchen then the girls grabbed a plate and had some lunch.
Kim spent most of the afternoon continuing setting up bookmarks on chrome and getting all the log in information and generally setting up for the day to day tasks.
As Kim got in an hour early, she was able to leave and hour early. Just as she were going to leave, she had to send off a FedEx package. As Kim and a colleague were both heading the same way, Kim had to grab the house keys from Curtis, they decided to just drop it off on route and then head their separate ways.
Well…that didn’t happen! Kim ended up grabbing a glass of wine and having a nice chat with her colleague! It was so nice for her to just sit and not work chat. It was clearly good fun as by the time they had finished, Curtis was basically home! So Kim plodded home while listening to some music.
Our Evening
We got back home and took out the recycling and rubbish before we just chilled out for a couple of hours. This was the first evening where we have had nothing to do for a while so we just did nothing!
Eventually, Kim made balsamic chicken with various vegetables, potatoes and creamy mushrooms.
We sat down and watched a couple of episodes of Lucifer before we went to sleep.
