Place 70 – Day 9: Victoria,BC – Snowy Beacon Hill Park

The day started with a lot of snowfall, butt nothing was laying on the ground.

We got showered and ready to go out and noticed just before we left that there was quite a bit of snow settling on the ground, so it was going to be a snowy day!

We walked up the road to a diner Kim went to a lot when she used to visit. This was called the Beacon Drive In.

We got there and the snow hadn’t relented at all, meaning everything was very much snow covered.

We ordered some breakfast. Curtis got eggs, bacon & toast and Kim got an egg, bacon & cheese muffin with hashbrowns.

We left the drive in after we ate and Curtis watched two had two cups of coffee (because why not when it is free refills!). After this, we went across the road into Beacon Hill Park, which was completely full of snow as it was barely being used.

We walked around for a while and then found a squirrel which we said hi to!

We left the park and went down to the city to look for some winter boots to eventually replace our shoes as they’re becoming tattered and not as waterproof after 2 years of constant use!

We found some perfect boots for Curtis, well, one shoe was anyway, so we put them aside so we could get some money and purchase later.

We went back to connect the shoes once we picked up some cash. Curtis then tried on both shoes, and one was completely different from the other! It seems they are terribly made, so we said no to those, which was a shame. We walked around a bit looking at other shoes, when we then heard some drumming, so we went to investigate.

There was some sort of Japanese apple celebration going odd, weirdly, which we watched for a bit before we left.

We then walked back home via the supermarket.

For dinner, Linda made us chicken parm with vegetables which was very delicious! We chatted for a couple of hours at the table with Linda about all kind of things and then watched some TV together.

We got a couple of things booked up for coming weeks and then went to sleep.

This time last year!
