Place 49 – Day 56: Auckland – 1 Year Wedding Anniversary!

We woke up at 09:00 and got ready to go out. We planned to have an omelette for breakfast, but instead we went to McDonald’s. Curtis got a large muffin with 2 sausage patties, bacon, egg & cheese and Kim got a sausage and egg muffin.

We left McDonald’s and drove into Takapuna, which is the next town up from us.

We were going there for a coffee as well as to get a cardigan for Kim to wear for work.

We arrived in Takapuna and that is when the heavens opened! From this point on, it basically rained the whole time, and a lot..

We got a coffee from Coffix (Really cheap, good quality coffee!) and sat and drank it there for a while before braving the walk to the car in which we got really wet!

We got in the car and drove a bit past Takapuna to a shopping Centre where we got incredibly wet just walking from the car to the shops.

We went to The Warehouse and bought some things there and then finished off with purchasing our weekly shop at the supermarket.

We left the supermarket and came home. Kim then had to get ready for work whilst Curtis watched hockey.

Curtis drove Kim to work where she worked from 14:00 to 22:00 (more like 23:00 though!).

Whilst Kim was at work, she was learning the reception tasks and working on reception. Kim then had an interesting thing happen, which was a mirror falling off the wall and smashing a glass table! No one was hurt though, which is a good thing!

Kim was driven home by a colleague and it was then bed time, but not before a whisky to celebrate our anniversary!
